Autumn Housecleaning, This Witch Way
So, we all know that Spring Cleaning is a thing. But everyone talks about it as if it’s the thing. I mean, sure. Before I head out to the garden, I’ll knock down some cobwebs and give a good sweep … Continue reading
Citrus Pomanders- A Magickal Winter Craft

Aside from smelling simply delicious, these pomanders that have become Winter Holiday favorites actually have their roots in witchery and folklore.
Oranges are magickal representations of the return of the Sun and bring fertility, good luck, Continue reading

Dia de los Angelitos
Today we continue the celebration of our beloved dead. The day after Hallowe’en and the day before Dia de los Muertos is dedicated to the babies and children we have lost, always too soon. This is my precious grandson, Bishop, who passed suddenly and unexpectedly from SIDS in 2007. Of all my losses, his was the most devastating. If you have lost a child of any age, my heart goes out to you. Continue reading

The first day of spring, the Vernal or Spring Equinox, occurs between March 20th and 21st here in the northern hemisphere. This year it’s today, March 20, (at 2:58 PM, here where I live). Many pagans and Wiccans celebrate it … Continue reading
Imbolc, St Brigid’s Day, & Groundhog Day – A Cross Quarter Celebration by Any Name
Halfway between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox and it’s time to party, right? In Thornesworld this means a cleaning of the altar, some Calendula and Swiss Chard that made it through winter as offerings, baking some herb and seed breads … Continue reading
First Harvest- A Happy and Blessed Lammas to You
Lammas, Lughnasadh, First Harvest. That’s today, August first, here in the Northern hemisphere. It’s one of the four cross quarter days that fall midway between each set of solstices and equinoxes on the wheel of the year. I’m not Wiccan, … Continue reading
