These 5-7 inch lengths of Black Locust wood have been ritually pruned from my own trees here in Thorne’s World. They are seasoned and ready for use. Each package contains 5 small thorned branch lengths for your magical use. They’re suitable for use in your cauldron fires, witches’ bottles, various protection workings, for small blasting rods, and in your personal ritual use as you Will.
A Little Locust Tree Lore
Loved by the fairy because of its thorns that protects fairy clearings.
Magical Properties: A mighty wand of protection and bindings. Use while working with the fairy realm. Some use this wood with spells that deal with beauty and physical appearances.
Similar in energy and appearance to the European Blackthorn tree, its lovely white flowers contrasted against its dangerous thorns represents the play between life and death. It carries many associations with the Fae, death, and the underworld. Blackthorn was believed to be used for black magic and cursing. Witch burning pyres were even fueled by Blackthorn wood in Inquisitional Spain. Yet, as we mentioned above, the tree retained some of it’s protective associations and these protective household uses persisted in Eastern Europe
Use these woods for Blasting and divining rods and for those items intended for rites of defense, blessing, cursing, fertility and power.
Use the thorn of Black Locust to fill witch bottles, as an awl for ritual leatherworks, and as pins in poppets or other baneful magics.
Flowers: Eat them! Brew with them! Wear them in perfume!
Wood: Handles for tools, excellent bows, mallets, hammers, and pegs for timber frames. It also makes lovely combs.
Thorns can be used for piercing in spell work (do not pierce yourself! It can get easily infected!!), wands for similar uses to Blackthorn. Ritual combs and hair pieces, durable stangs
