This handmade wall assemblage is an homage to flight.
I’ve incorporated a bit of rusty metal and bits and pieces that are reminiscent of the treasures a magpie might collect and take home to the nest.
The color palette ranges from delicate robin’s egg blue to sandy earth tones, and contains feathers from my own darling parrots, against a mahogany colored wood background. There is a decoupage egg and a ceramic bird glazed in beautiful rutile blue.
Streamers of bells and whimsical shapes depend from copper wire loops at the bottom.
The main body measures 16.5 inches tall by 8.25 inches at its widest point. The danglies add another 12 inches overall.
