Here in Thornesworld we celebrate the winter holidays from Solstice, on the 21st (usually) through the 12 days of Yule, including the our Christmas Eve traditions of matching jammies, hot chocolate and a family game while we hang the stockings and wonder what Santa might fill them with in the deep of the night. We’ll continue burning the Yule fire, begun on the Solstice, kindled with a bit of charcoal from last year’s Yule fire and going back now from Yule to Yule over a span of 33 years. At the end of Yule we’ll carefully save a bit of charcoal from this year’s fire to continue our tradition for another year, gods willing.
We wish you the gentlest yet merriest holiday you can hold, whatever your practice, and a happy, safe winter and blessed New Year.
