Today we continue the celebration of our beloved dead. The day after Hallowe’en and the day before Dia de los Muertos is dedicated to the babies and children we have lost, always too soon. This is my precious grandson, Bishop, who passed suddenly and unexpectedly from SIDS in 2007. Of all my losses, his was the most devastating. If you have lost a child of any age, my heart goes out to you.
I won’t focus on the crippling grief of that loss today, as we pray for their sweet souls and honor their innocent spirits in gratitude of their blessing in our lives. Rather I shall remember his bright smiles, the sound of his laughter, the sweet smell of his milky breath and the welcome weight of him in my arms. I’ll make his favorite toys giggle (a giggling bug and a tickle bear were his favorites, and somehow the batteries still work after 14 years) and his offerings shall be of sweet milk and vanilla wafer cookies.
Please remember to check in at Thornesworld Blog every day. You all get the daily Focus posts, and they’re a good way to bring some clarity to your days, and work well as a meditation starter. Also, the monthly forecast is up, and I think there’s a lot of helpful information there for you as the holidays rush toward us.
In closing, I’m running late on your October subscription boxes, but I haven’t forgotten about you. They’ll be shipping in the next several days. I’ll drop each of you that are receiving them the tracking info when I ship.
Blessings and so much beauty to you all, in both light and shadow.
And love.
Always, love
Blessed be,
